About me

Portrait

I am a physicist and avid computer programmer. In my day job, I'm working on magnetically confined nuclear fusion at Tri Alpha Energy. My main focus (and also the topic of my dissertation at Columbia University) is feedback control.

In my free time, I'm contributing to various open-source projects. Most of most of my time is spent on maintaining libfuse (the user-space interface to the FUSE kernel module) and S3QL (a file system for cloud data storage). I am also Debian maintainer of the latter. At the moment I'm mostly programming in Python and Cython, but I enjoy learning new languages and my favorites typically change over time.

When I'm not working on nuclear fusion or programming I enjoy Snowboarding, Surfing, Bouldering and long-distance running.
